Giving Back

We can make an incredibly positive difference!

Each of us has the capability to do something requiring little sacrifice and effort that can permanently and drastically improve another’s happiness and quality of life. For example, something as simple and inexpensive as a make-shift wheelchair (although functional and durable) can change a person’s life and spread feelings of happiness and joy throughout the family and community, or believing in a confused and troubled teen, or helping a struggling family bury a loved one in a time of great sadness. The possibilities are endless. Our dollars, time, and talent can have an immediate, measurable, and lasting impact! A simple act can make great difference.

Decide to find a cause that matters to you, and give what you can. Be a mentor, serve on a committee, make regular donations or volunteer. Be part of making the place you live a more worthwhile place. Giving is much more fulfilling than getting.

My philosophy is fairly simple: Life happens, Mistakes happen, Accidents happen, and Tragedies happen. Life has its ups and downs and you take the good with the bad. Life can be unfair; welcome to the planet earth. You deal with it and move on. Life is also what you make it and I am responsible for creating my own circumstances and emotions. Life is glorious and I strive to live with passion and in a spirit of integrity, love, charity, humility, and optimism.

I’ve made my share of mistakes throughout my life. I try to recognize them and learn and grow from them. I’ve experienced loss and pain, and been put through the meat grinder a few times like most everyone else in this world.

I hope my life experiences have shaped me into a better person, increased my empathy and compassion and my ability to be a tremendous blessing to my family and others. My life has been a learning experience and shown me the value of what I have.

For me, experience has brought humility. Self-awareness and smart choices isn’t always easy, but critical to becoming a better person. I am a work in progress in my mission of being more and becoming more, so I can bless more and make a magnificent difference! I don’t quit. I am driven and ambitious as I love service, accomplishment, and I have a compelling purpose in life. I fight for justice and fairness, and strive to be a voice for those in need.

I believe in myself. I think highly of myself. I have a winning mindset and strive to implement the strategies and tactics to succeed. I love to see and help others succeed.

I am a big proponent of building up others, and increasing the self-esteem and self-image of people. I hate to see someone not believe in themselves and this breaks my heart. This is one of the great tragedies in life. We rise to the level of our self-image and raising someone’s self-image is a significant way to make a great difference in someone’s life and in this world!! I speak from personal experience on how my own life forever changed for the better as a result of this.

One day we will all leave this earth; some sooner than others and unexpectedly for most of us. All we have is the person we are, our family and friends, and the people we love and bless each day. Why not train yourself and make it a priority to have the awareness to make an effort to make each day filled with peace, love, joy, and happiness for yourself and others? Why not add value to and make someone’s day more fulfilling? Sometimes all people need is a change in their perspective.

What’s the downside? This may take effort for a while, but it’s certainly a positive and uplifting exercise. A smile, a hug, a handshake, giving recognition, a complement, and a kind word will go a long way. The reality is that without making the effort, the day will soon be gone before you know it, along with the missed opportunities that presented themselves, so seize as many moments as you can. Believe me.

I have life and time pressures like the rest of us so this is a work in progress for me, but a priority. I can speak to the benefits of this firsthand as I have had strangers approach me, be complementary, believe in me, and are friends to this day.

Finally, I believe in others, and I root for the underdog. I love a great comeback story. I love to see the oddsmakers and pundits proven wrong. I love an upset victory. I believe in forgiveness, redemption, and second chances.

Don’t ever let others tell you what you can’t do or try to limit you! Believe in others and believe in yourself!
